The Committee of Water Treatment and Reuse, Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences (CSES), devotes to promoting research and innovative development on water treatment and reuse theories, technologies, engineering, standards and management; bringing together networks for professionals from the academia and industry, cultivating talented individuals; and undertaking scientific knowledge education and propagation activities. These can contribute to water reuse development, water resource sustainable utilization, water environment safety guarantee and ecological civilization.
The idea of the committee is “One Water, Beyond Water”.

Water reuse is an important strategy to deal with the issues of water resource shortage, water environment contamination, water ecosystem destruction and water space shrinkage problems, and has a great potential for future development. Water reuse is an important task in multiple national key action plans of China.
To promote communication in water treatment and reuse field, the committee has organized the National Conference on Water Treatment and Reuse of China (ChinaWTR) from 2017. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd conferences were successfully held in Shaoxing,Qingdao and Guangzhou, respectively. The conferences have provided goodplatforms for discussing in-depth issues related to wastewater treatment, waterreuse and water environment management.
The committee follows the concept of “one water, beyond water” and advocates academic communication and discussion with a high degree of professionalism, expertise, applicability and practicability. The conference is highly appraised by experts and scholars nationwide and overseas including France, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Australia, U.S. and Sri Lanka.

To promote communication in water treatment and reuse field, the committee has organized the Water Treatment and Reuse Talk (WaterTalk) from 2020. As a series of forums, one or two guests will be invited in each issue. The conferences have provided good platforms for discussing the important topics in the field of water treatment and reuse.

To promote "scientific, rational and long-term water control" ， the committee launched a series of water environment management workshops from 2018.
- The 1st Asian Symposium on Water Reuse
- The 2nd Asian Symposium on Water Reuse
Launched by Tsinghua University, Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) and Kyoto University, the scope of the Asian Symposium on Water Reuse (ASWR) is to provide a unique platform for local communication, and also broaden concepts, ideas and models for water reuse globally. The symposium will be held once a year, and will be organized and chaired among the three organizations in turn.
